Why You Should Rent

Renters don't have the responsibilities that come with owning and maintaining a home. If the air conditioning decides not to work, it's the owner that must pay to get it fixed.
Renting offers flexibility if your family size increases (or decreases). If that new baby comes a few years earlier than you planned, as an owner it's difficult and expensive to increase the size of the house.
It's easier to relocate to another neighborhood or city if you don't have a home to sell. Sometimes it can take years to sell a home, but a renter can move without worrying if the house will sell.
Renters don't have to worry if property values decrease in their area.
A renter can easily downsize if there are financial problems from an illness or job loss, but a home owner could lose his home.
A comparison of monthly mortgage payments versus monthly rents across all housing nationwide shows it's cheaper to rent (Bill Rumbler, Chicago Sun-Times, "Is it cheaper to rent or buy?").
You may be able to afford to live in a more upscale location if you rent.

Who We Are

Our great-great-grandfather came to Macon, Georgia in the 1870's. Since that time, we have come to know and love Macon and the middle Georgia area. We have owned rental property since the 1890's. We have always worked hard to maintain our property so that anyone would be proud to live in one of our homes.

During all these years, we have used various means to advertise our property. We discovered that when we advertised in the paper we spent a lot of time answering the same questions over and over again because most renters need the same information. We also arranged for people to see the property only to discover they really weren't interested because the property didn't fit their needs.

We decided the Internet would provide a great way for potential renters to have their basic questions answered, see pictures of the interior and exterior of the property, and view a map of the property's location. Thus, MaconRents.com was born.
